Antenna Project Homepage

If you live in the Snohomish area and you received a brochure in the mail.  Please click here for information related to the CAAM Partnership, LLC. AM radio project for 1520 AM and radiofrequency energy.

Coming Soon: Crisper Sound, Wider Reach from NorthSound 1380 (KRKO-AM)!

State administrative and judicial reviews dated December 26, 2006, and January 19, 2007 upheld and finalized permits required to construct a new transmitter site for KRKO.  Thank you for your support.

We're moving ahead to build a new radio antenna system in the Snohomish River Valley south of the City of Snohomish. We'll have an opportunity to serve the entire Northern Puget Sound region as no radio station has done before:

  • Virtually all of the populated areas of Snohomish County and many areas further north and west will be able to tune in clear reception of 50,000-watt NorthSound 1380 programming.
  • Listeners in buildings and homes will have improved reception in Snohomish County.
  • We will be able to convert to High Definition Radio, or HD Radio. This means much better, richer sound if you have a new digital receiver, but you can still get reception as always on an older set.
  • Wider-reaching coverage will enable NorthSound 1380 to serve a vital function in the case of emergencies or school closures. For this reason, NorthSound emergency service providers, fire departments, police departments and school districts are eager for the new antenna to go into service.

We invite you to learn more about AM radio, how it works, and why so many AM radio transmitter sites are located on salt-water and in river valley environments.  Click here to see our photo gallery.
